About 6 weeks ago Kyle and I sold our
house we had for 15 years. This house has so much history. It is where
Tattered Angels started and Glimmer Mist was created. I also had a portrait
studio that I ran out of our home for 5 years. Prior to the portrait
studio in the house we built, developed and I operated Senger Studio, a 4
thousand square foot Portrait Studio. Kyle ran our custom Photo Lab
called Photos Plus, that developed and processed all the studio work and more.
After about 10 years we sold the Photo Lab and moved the studio into our
house... needless to say we accumulated a LOT of stuff. As most people know the
longer you are in one spot the more you have collected. Well that is an
understatement for Kyle and I. Kyle took on most of the sorting and
storage of the house, bless his heart it seemed like it took forever to get the
house cleaned out. Three kids, a divorce and several business’s later we
managed.WHEW!!!
So now I have a truly great story to
tell about a move my kids and I are embarking on. My time lately has been spent
getting my kids and home ready for a big move. Its been 2 years since I
divorced and moved in to a beautiful condo that had fit the kids and I
perfectly. It was only 2 minutes from the house we were in for 15 years and no
changing schools for the kids. When I was running Tattered Angels I did not
have time to take care of anything, especially a yard, snow removal or
maintenance. Our condo has been a wonderful home to us.
FYI… During the same time of moving
out of the house I was working with Canvas Corp and the changing hands of
Tattered Angels. I wont even get into the fact we were also shipping for Winter
CHA and sorting personal property, Scrapbook supplies, desks, photography
studio equipment and such out of the Tattered Angels 11 thousand square foot
warehouse. Luckily the Canvas team and the Tattered Angels crew did an amazing
job packing and shipping the Tattered warehouse for its travels to Arkansas.
Let me tell you this was not an easy project. That warehouse was truly packed,
every inch! As my luck would have it I, due to the stress of everything I'm
sure , got sick with the Flu, pneumonia and laryngitis, all at the same time!
Who gets this sick??? The doctors mentioned putting me in the hospital
but I just could not let that happen during such a crazy time of my life.
Ok so back to the move…..
So as fate would have it about 6 weeks
ago Kyle and I had a buyer for our house. During the signing of the contract my
Realtor mentioned that the couple buying our home was planning on giving it a
face lift and put it up for rent. I had just gotten a letter in the
mail asking if I had planed to renew my lease for another year.
Hmm..wheels turning... I mentioned to my realtor I might be interested in
renting back my home. Soon after I was corresponding with the new home
owner and discussing the possibility of moving back in. I brought up the move
to the kids and they were all in. I gave them the choice to move or not.
If they did choose to move they had to help me with the packing every
step of the way. As we get closer to moving day we are getting more and
more excited about moving back into our old rooms, having more space, being
next door to best friends and across the street to the elementary and middle
schools again.
Friday, the 13th, is the
beginning of the big move. I would like to compare this big move to a new
father. Men tend to not to get excited about having a baby for the first
time UNTIL you get closer to delivery, or even after the baby is born. My kids
had better start realizing the delivery of the new house is upon us.... LOL I
need more help!!!
